Thumbnail Dilemna
I am thinking about updating the thumbnails on my website. First to give it a slightly different look and second, cause the last image I resized into a thumbnail just looks bad : ( So I am thinking that instead of shrinking an entire piggy bank to 100x100 pixels, I would just crop part of the piggy bank/item to 100x100. Then it would be kind of a teaser too.....*this is just part of me, click here and see more*....Then I tilted an image.
I thought it would look cool. It just looks dumb.

Pretend you are at the eye drs.
What do you think? Which is more appealing? A whole body shot, or a close up? Leave me a comment and LMK ; )

I changed the thumbnails on these 2 pages on the site Animal Piggy Banks and Sports Piggy Banks
I did NOT change these pages Unique Piggy Banks , Plain Old Piggy Banks or Kids Piggy Banks
Any opinions?
OK, so here are my thoughts - for what they're worth since I'm not a photographer or a designer. ;-)
I first came to your site, I dunno, a couple of weeks ago - something like that and I thought the banks were fantastic.
Watermelon bank is brilliant and the image is excellent. I loved, loved, LOVED the tiger, zebra and cow banks so much that I almost ordered all three. The only thing that held me back is the fact that I move to move to Chicago this summer and I cannot buy anything between now and then... heh.
Now, back on your site with the animal images changed... I'm not in love with these anymore. I don't think those tiny snippets of face do your work justice. I also don't think they entice people to click.
I'll be honest and say that if these were the images I had seen two weeks ago, I would not have bookmarked your site for later shopping opportunities. Luckily, I do have your site bookmarked though - and I'll be back to shop after I move.
Ha. Thank you. I knew I needed different eyes. I think I am just tired of looking at the same pictures over and over and over. But they do their job and business has been steadily increasing every year. So I will go back and fix the ones I changed and leave well enough alone. I appreciate you looking.
