Pampering. No, NOT diapers.

My friend Candy, who is also my part time help, came over today to help me get a few things done. As she was leaving we were talking about our week ahead and haircuts. A lady down the road cuts our hair in her salon in her basement. Nothing fancy, but heck, we sure don't need anything fancy. So after we briefly discussed our haircuts, we got on the topic of pampering. How a haircut is or isn't pampering...Candy said she felt pampered when she cut her toe nails. Well. We had good laugh after that!!!! I personally don't find anything remotely fun about cutting my own toe nails, but hey, to each her own.

As she left, I was left with the question, what do I do to pamper myself? Nothing was the first thought that came to mind. I work at home. I work alot with my hands, so my nails are relatively short and have never been manicured. I have nice strong nails, but don't use polish because it can rub off onto whatever I am painting. My feet are never bare, so don't even think about a pedicure. I get my haircut once in while, but only when I can't take it anymore. (see another bad hair day) In fact, yesterday I cut off about 1 1/2" from the back of my hair with the help of my daughter. Never been to a spa.....rarely by new clothes for myself, and don't own any lingerie. I work at home. I shower and I stay clean and neat, but I don't have anyone here to impress.

Aaaaahhh, then I thought of something. I color my hair. I hate when the brown turns dingy and dull, and the gray roots start to show, so off to the store I go for hair color. I don't just by the cheap stuff either. I get the color with hilights by L'oreal. French Eclair, I think. It evens sounds like a yummy color : ) Of course, I don't go to a salon to have my hair colored and hilighted, I do it myself. But I feel better when it is done and I buy the good stuff....because....I-am-SO-worth-it.

And so the question is.....what do YOU do to pamper yourself?

About twice a year I get a pedicure. I usually walk around barefoot or in birkenstock but it is also in the 80's or 90's 10 months out of the year.

I so hear you. Pampering? I do splurge on a pedicure when we go to the beach in the summer. The nail polish is nice, but the foot massage part is THE BEST!

Now see, while a foot massage and pedicure sound good....I can't stand ANYONE touching my feet. It is the most ticklish part of my body and I will kick to keep them from being touched.
